Dead Rails just dropped a massive update, bringing tons of new content for players to explore. This update introduces a brand-new town, a hidden cave full of secrets, a powerful new sword that can turn zombies against each other, and even horse carriages you can customize.

So without further delay, here’s a detailed guide for the Dead Rails Nightmare Mode and Town of Sterling update.

Dead Rails New Town and Hidden Cave

The new town requires a visit, though you need to search carefully, as its location appears randomly between 10,000M and 60,000M. A town qualifies as the right spot when it stands slightly beyond train rails while displaying a sizable entrance sign. Every house within this town contains eight bonds and sometimes includes hidden lore notes.

The Jade Tablet stands as a crucial item that can be found inside the church building. Keep the Jade Tablet because you will require it during a later part of your adventure. Begin by getting a torch from the Sheriff’s Office before continuing to the church’s backside to locate the cave entrance. The required dynamite can be obtained from the carts positioned outside the area.

The dynamite and torch will enable you to break open the entrance before facing skeleton miners and cave zombies who wield active dynamite. The cave contains additional Jade Tablets in concealed areas and behind wooden crates, together with deposits of gold and coal. The hidden area at the rear of the space demands additional dynamite before you can access it.

The interior of this location contains an Emerald Sword, which transforms defeated enemies into allies after defeat. The cursed mask inside the cave should be avoided because obtaining it will trigger three massive werewolves to pursue you. The task of breaking free from this area becomes challenging for all players except those with horses or who possess the vampire class.

New Emerald Rod

Among all weapons in the game, the Emerald Sword stands as one of the most powerful. Through its power the Emerald Sword has the capability to resurrect defeated enemies who will become your allies. The conversion process does not always succeed but when it does, it provides you with an advantageous battle situation.

We conducted tests by battling werewolves until they defeated their allies, which transformed them into additional forces during combat. The weapon proved effective in converting bandits and zombies into your allies and some of them used shotguns to fight against their former comrades.

The most thrilling test involved using the Emerald Sword and Mask to conquer a castle that contained both vampires and werewolves. The creation of a strong army started when we transformed several werewolves into allies outside the castle. We transformed additional vampires and werewolves into allies within the castle, which resulted in complete dominance of the fortress. This sword enables effective gameplay for clearing difficult areas because of its intelligent use.

Taming Wolves

The new update introduces the entertaining mechanic of wolf taming. The ability to tame wolves through corpse feeding includes the grisly method of using their own species (disturbing yet functional). After wolves become tamed, they will attack their previous pack members, which requires you to prevent them from destroying each other.

The raid on the castle showed the wolves possessed decent combat skills yet they lacked the extreme power found in the Emerald Sword’s converted allies. The presence of wolves during fights creates opportunities for you to strike enemies when they are preoccupied.

Horse Carriages

The update introduces horse carriages as a new addition that resides inside barns. The carriages work with horses through attachment points and users can modify them by adding welded components. The carriage system provides an excellent way to transport additional loot, which facilitates longer travels.

Nightmare Mode

The new Nightmare Mode provides additional challenges to players through several enhanced difficulty features.

  • Zombies hit harder.
  • Less loot spawns
  • No natural health regeneration
