It was introduced as a part of the 4.4 update but obtaining it isn’t an easy task as players are required to complete a tricky quest. Therefore, we’ve put together this detailed guide to help you unlock the Mercenaries ability in A Universal Time.
A Universal Time (AUT) Mercenaries Ability Unlock Guide
The first step to unlocking the Mercenaries ability in AUT is speaking with the Skaidev NPC who spawns at Alabasta. The NPC can be found at the roof of the house and we’ve marked its exact location in the above image.
After interacting with the NPC, he will give you a certain quest which requires you to collect certain items and defeat a boss. The Skaidev NPC will ask you to:
- Find seven items:
- Charge and Stage
- Medics Equipment (Epic rarity)
- Grenade Launcher
- Knife
- Eylander
- Flamethrower
- Rocket Launcher (Common item)
- Defeat a new boss called The Spy in the Hidden Village.
The Medics Equipment is the rarest and hardest to find, so it might take some grinding. If you’re struggling to find certain items, consider trading with other players.
When it comes to the Spy boss, he spawns in the Hidden Village every 20 minutes. To earn rewards, you need to deal at least 10% damage before it’s defeated. Even if others are fighting the boss, as long as you contribute enough damage, you’ll be eligible for drops.
Once you get all the seven items and defeat the boss, head back to the Skaidev NPC to complete the quest and finally unlock the Mercenaries ability.
A unique feature of this ability is that it summons characters based on random people from your friend list in order to turn them into your personal army.
