The upcoming Genshin Impact killer, Project Mugen, finally has an official title: Ananta. While we still don’t know when it will actually arrive, you can pre-register for it right now on the official site. That suggests it’s reasonably close to release.

What’s Ananta?

So what do we know about Ananta? Well, quite frankly, not an awful lot. We know it’s a gacha RPG, like anything HoYoverse comes out with, and that it takes place in the futuristic Nova City.

The official announcement trailer, which you can view below, teaches us a little bit more. It features characters driving around the city, participating in a series of minigames, including skating, beach volleyball, and even playing in a band.

Later in the trailer, we see racing minigames, working out in the gym, and even darts. These seem to play a big part in Ananta, which is quite refreshing in a genre that is often so combat heavy.

There are also plenty of moments when the character whips out their phone to take a selfie or photo.

Combat Still Plays a Big Part

Things quickly start to go wrong though, with some quite terrifying monsters causing havoc in the city. We see various characters taking the fight to them, with a combination of melee and shooting mechanics making an appearance.

Later in the trailer, we see characters using stealth or environmental damage to make short work of groups. There’s also plenty of opportunities to pull off special moves, that decimate your opponents.

Getting Around

Traversal seems to have a ton of different options. You can drive around the city in a variety of vehicles, swing around like Spider-Man, or take the tube.

You can also just run around if that’s how you prefer to get around.
