In the latest Anime Adventures update 20, the development team introduced a bunch of new Secret units. That includes Shadow Sorcerer and Sorcerer Killer (Toji). In this guide, we’re going to focus on the latter, advising you on the exact steps you need to follow to unlock them, and everything else you need to know about the elusive new unit.
How to Unlock Sorcerer Killer (Toji) in Anime Adventures

Step One: Access the Restriction Portal
First, we need to tackle the correct Restriction Portal. These provide a challenging horde of enemies to defeat, who arrive in waves. Survive the appropriate number of waves and you take on a boss, who, upon defeating, drops you with a number of different rewards.
To unlock Sorcerer Killer, you need to beat the Shibuya Portal. It takes place in the Shibuya District and you can get it within ‘Infinite Mode’.
Step Two: Survive Until Wave 20
This is a particularly challenging Portal, as it features 20 waves (up from the typical 15). Your first step is to survive until wave 20, as that opens up the opportunity to unlock Sorcerer Killer (Toji).
We recommend utilising the Portal’s boost to help you take on the more challenging waves. You may also want to try numerous times, putting together a reliable strategy to defeat the waves before they bring you down.
Fortunately, each Portal provides you with six attempts to get through to the end. That means you can fail six times before you have to unlock another Portal. Make use of this.
Step Three: Defeat the Boss
Once you’ve got through the 20 waves, you will encounter a challenging boss. Keep this in mind while putting together a reliable strategy, as what works for waves of enemies might not help with the boss.
We recommend balancing the number of AoE units you’re using, with some that feature solid single target damage that can bring a high HP boss down quickly.
Step Four: Rinse and Repeat
So, here’s the bad news: you aren’t guaranteed to get Sorcerer Killer (Toji) by beating a Portal in Anime Adventures. You have a chance to drop it. That means you’re going to have to grind the Shibuya District Portal numerous times to maximise your chances of unlocking it.
