The Volt Capsule is one of those items in Blox Fruits that doesn’t look like much at first, but it’s actually super important if you’re planning to mess around with the Lightning (Rumble) Fruit. It’s an uncommon material that you’ll end up farming a lot if you want to fully awaken Lightning after its rework. Here’s everything you need to know about what Volt Capsules do and, more importantly, how to get them.
How to Get Volt Capsules in Blox Fruits
Right now, there’s really only one way to farm Volt Capsules:
- Head to Submerged Island in the Third Sea. (If you don’t know how to get there, check my Submerged Island guide first — you’ll need access to the Third Sea and a submarine ride from Tiki Outpost.)
- Once you’re there, look for two specific NPCs: Sea Chanters and Ocean Prophets.
- Defeat them until they drop Volt Capsules. The drop isn’t guaranteed, so expect to grind a bit.
- Usually, you’ll need at least three Volt Capsules to move forward with awakening Lightning or certain crafting tasks.
It’s a classic Blox Fruits grind. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and they’ll drop quick, other times you’ll feel like the NPCs are trolling you.
What Volt Capsules Are Used For in Blox Fruits?
So why bother farming these things? Volt Capsules tie directly into two big parts of the game right now:
Lightning Fruit Awakening
If you’re rocking the Lightning (Rumble) Fruit, you’ll definitely need Volt Capsules. They’re required to unlock the advanced abilities added with the rework. Think of it like a ticket to the good stuff — those flashy, high-damage moves you’ve probably seen other players showing off.
For example, to awaken the Z3 skill (Thunder Dragon) and other upgraded moves, you’ll need:
- 3 Volt Capsules
- 5 Electric Wings (drops from Electric Piranhas during sea events)
- 11,000 Fragments (from raids and other activities)
It’s not cheap, but once you unlock those new Lightning skills, the grind feels worth it.
Crafting and Upgrades
Outside of awakening, Volt Capsules are tied to crafting in later phases of Lightning upgrades. Think of them as the “final piece” you need to push your Lightning kit to its max potential.
Is It Worth Farming Volt Capsules?
Honestly, yes. If you’re a Lightning user. Without them, you’re stuck with the base version of the fruit, and you’ll miss out on some of the strongest reworked abilities. If you’re not into Lightning at all, you can probably skip the grind for now unless the devs add more recipes that need Volt Capsules later.
