Using potions in Dead Rails will make a huge difference. Currently, there are only four potions to use, and they are all helpful in their own ways.

Here you will learn about gathering the materials, making the potions, and how they work in Dead Rails.

How to Make Potions in Dead Rails

Making potions is pretty simple. You should start by finding a Glass Bottle by exploring various locations on the map. Following this, you should mix the two required ingredients directly on the ground. Once the mixture is ready, transfer it into bottles before it’s gone.

After you have bottled the potion, you can either stand in it or pour it over yourself. Just a heads up: It is better to handle this situation before the fight starts. Pouring something on your character during combat is not the best choice.

Where to Get Potion Ingredients in Dead Rails

You will need to gather Water, Milk, Blood, and Kerosene on your adventures. A lot of monsters are harmless, yet some tend to be very aggressive.

The only way to produce Unicorn Blood and Zombie Blood is by killing unicorns and zombies. Yes, it can be quite bleak, but that’s just how it is in the wild.

Tips and Tricks

Here is some advice for using potions in Dead Rails. In most cases, just a little of a potion is needed for it to be effective. Very little will do the job. It means you can save the ingredients for later use in making more potions.

Yet, Holy Water is an exception in this matter. The bottle should be as full as possible for it to work best. Therefore, try not to cut back on that one.

It’s useful to have several ingredients at hand before you enter a big battle. Having potions on hand before the fight can be crucial and might save you from death.
