Dead Rails Snake Oil Guide
Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about Snake Oil in Dead Rails, including exactly what it does and the various different ways you can get it.
What it Does
Snake Oil is basically a health potion in Dead Rails. When you use it, your character is fully healed back up to 100% HP no matter how low your health bar is when you use it.
So, it’s actually fairer to refer to Dead Rails as a health potion on steroids, as in most games they won’t fully heal you on use.
Ideally, you always have a Snake Oil or two on you whenever you’re playing Dead Rails, as there are always enemies trying to chip away at your health bar.
How to Get it
You can get Snake Oil from two different locations in Dead Rails:
- Doctor
- General Store
- Looting
If you’re purchasing it from a store, Snake Oil costs roughly $35 in-game. However, we thoroughly recommend that you scavenge for it in any location within the game, so you can keep your stock high without having to purchase it each time.
You can loot Snake Oil from pretty much any buildings that you pass while on your train, so don’t miss the opportunity.
Is Snake Oil Worth it?
Oh, absolutely. Given the danger you’re in near-constantly in Dead Rails, having a potion that allows you to restore yourself back up to full HP is a godsend.
It’s so important that we recommend keeping a solid supply of it on you at all times.
