Looking for a way to transfer characters across different servers in Dune Awakening? Many players want to transfer their characters because their friend plays the game on a different server and they simply want to join them in the exploration.
Unfortunately, you currently can’t transfer characters between servers in Dune: Awakening, though Funcom is working on adding the feature. For a deeper explanation, check out the full Dune Awakening guide below.
Can You Move Characters Between Servers in Dune Awakening?
At this moment, you cannot move your characters from one server to another in Dune: Awakening. When you make a character, it will only exist on the server (or “Hagga Basin”) you selected.
Changing servers means you’ll have to start from scratch with a new character and lose everything you’ve collected so far.
This has disappointed some players, mainly those who were separated from their friends because the servers were locked or full on the game’s release. Since your character is on just one server, picking the right one from the start is very important.
You can also switch to other servers in the same “World” to meet your friends, see their bases, or join them in PvP in the Deep Desert. You can’t change where your character lives or take your possessions with you, because you’re only a guest.
Is It Possible to Transfer Items Between Private Servers?
If you rent a private server from GPORTAL or xRealm, you can move your items between private servers in the same World, but not between official and private servers.

Are Character Transfers Coming in the Dune Awakening Future Update?
The positive side is that Funcom has confirmed that they are working on character transfers, but they haven’t announced when it will be available.
At this point, be smart: either join your friends on the same server or pick one that isn’t crowded. If you wish to play with different groups, you can make several characters on various servers, but every character has to start from the beginning.
To get a character’s appearance on a new server, use the Character Creator to export a .json file and load it, but your progress won’t be saved.
