eFootball has announced its next suite of updates, including patch 4.2.0 and an unlikely crossover. That’s right: eFootball x Captain Tsubasa is a thing, and it’s coming soon.
For those unaware, Captain Tsubasa is an anime and manga series about a Japanese football team captained by the eponymous Tsubasa. He’s an 11 year old student who wants nothing more than to win the World Cup for Japan.
So it’s not that unusual a crossover. Both will arrive on December 5, along with some extra freebies. Let’s take a look at everything we know about the upcoming update.
What to Expect in the eFootball 4.2.0 Update?
Konami is remaining quite tight-lipped on the contents of version 4.2.0, but we do know a few things.
We know that it’s arriving on December 5 and, providing you install it by December 8, you get a free goodie.
That’s the ‘Chance Deal’, but you only have three days to use it before it expires on December 12.
For those unaware, Chance Deals allow you to sign a random player from a pool of previously released options.
Lastly, we know that select players and managers will leave the game on December 5 due to licensing issues. That’s a pretty standard part of the update cycle with eFootball though.
eFootball x Captain Tsubasa
Again, Konami hasn’t provided many details about the eFootball x Captain Tsubasa crossover. Well, other than that it will kick off on December 5, alongside version 4.2.0.
What we’d hope is that you can sign several characters from the show to add to your team. We certainly won’t complain if they’re full blown cel-shaded characters who totally break the visual style of the game.
Either way, we’ll let you know more about the full update and the Captain Tsubasa crossover when it launches on December 5.
