Konami has just dropped an exciting new eFootball update that revamps visuals, introduces new leagues, and, most importantly, squishes some bugs.

We’re here to tell you all the latest highlights from update v4.1.0 so you know what to expect when you dive back in.

eFootball Update 4.1.0 Patch Notes

Along with a host of general fixes, the update kicked off with a few feature additions and changes. Konami has now changed the algorithm when calculating each player’s stats.

What this means in practice, is that each player should now perform better while playing the beautiful game.

There will also be a limit to the times you can perform “Select Thrower” and “Select Kicker” in online matches down to one per set piece. That should prevent trolls from deliberately drawing out matches.

Autumn Cleaning

This update has a real focus on aesthetics and, in particular, realism. Team data now properly represents player form and roster changes.

New player photos and graphics will bring a fresh look to some of the old models. That same treatment will apply to manager photos and their representative data.

New Strips, Club Leagues and competition emblems have beenupdated along with balls, boots, and – brace for it – pitch side advertising boards!

Another nice touch is the inclusion of new cinematics and animations along with new commentary to freshen things up.

New Leagues, Competitions, and Teams

As for new season data updates, the following leagues and competitions have been updated to collaborate with the current start of the new seasons:

  • Ligue 2 BKT
  • AFC Champions League Elite
  • AFC Champions League Two
  • AFC Asian Qualifiers

Squishing Them Bugs

Konami is keen to provide as smooth a playing experience as possible, so has squished a number of bugs.

Players could previously perform a Finesse Dribble near the line to easily avoid the ball going out of play. This now only happens if you turn Smart Assist on.

The issues where the game would become inoperable when resuming, specifically after selecting a skill up mission and pausing the game while the screen is loading, have been resolved.
