FFXIV 7.1 Patch Notes
The patch is absolutely massive, so we’ll break it down into a bunch of different sections.
Here’s the top line new features to expect from patch 7.1:
- Main Story Qyest
- Dungeon
- Unreal Trial
- Alliance Raid
- Ultimate Raid
- Allied Society Quests
- New Game+
- Doman Mahjong
- Custom Deliveries
- Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
- Wachumeqimeqi Quests
- Role Quests
Chaotic Alliance Raid Changes
There are going to be considerable changes to Chaotic Alliance Raids. This includes a new type of battle content arriving as part of patch 7.15.
There will also be a new difficulty for Chaotic Alliance Raids, which will sit above Extreme difficulty. The first of these takes place in the Cloud of Darkness, within the Crystal Tower.
You need only take on a single boss, rather than a series of trash mobs, and your alliance party will feature two tanks and healers, alongside four DPS units. In total, you will need 12 – 24 players and the difficulty won’t scale.
In terms of rewards, you can expect level 730 gear, hairstyles, minions, and multiple mounts. You also collect tokens, which you can exchange for rewards. When the event drops, you can earn additional tokens for a specific period.
PvP Updates
PvP is mostly getting balance and quality of life adjustments, rather than new features. For example, there will be a big focus on hit detection and action execution, allowing you to react faster to what’s happening.
Every job except Viper and Pictomancer will get new actions, while others will be removed. Square Enix expects certain Jobs to feel completely different in PvP from before.
Rounding up the changes, limit breaks, the arenas Red Sands and Cloud Nine Crystalline Conflict, and Frontline and Rival Wings modes will all see significant improvements.
In terms of new content, you can expect a brand new PvP series, 7, to begin with a brand new rewards track. That will also signal the end of series 6.
Duty Support and Hall of the Novice
Duty Support will arrive for all dungeons not related to the main story quest, with Halatali kicking things off.
In terms of the Hall of the Novice, you will now be trained up in more advanced combat mechanics, and you can participate in new training manoeuvres from level 49.
Outfit Glamours
You can now store Glamours in sets, as opposed to individual items, so you can quickly swap to your favourite costumes. You can project them onto gear or store them in plates.
To store an outfit, you need to own the entire set. You can’t store a dyed outfit though, and will have to reapply the dye when you wear it again.
Housing
This will please those that love the housing system: you can select a different design for the interior of your home. This will include all-new interiors arriving as part of this update.
When you swap to a new interior design, all items within your house will be stored.
UI
There aren’t many UI changes this time around. You can now display up to 10 quests at a time, your character’s head will tilt when you turn it.
