Just a day after the Clix Icon Cup was announced, Fortnite has announced another major event: the FNCS Bugha Icon Cup. This tournament isn’t about high-level play alone.
It also relates to the upcoming Pro-Am 2025 event and gives players the chance to get the exclusive Champion Bugha Outfit. So if you are excited about this tournament, here is how you can be a part of the FNCS Bugha Icon Cup.
What is the FNCS Bugha Icon Cup?
The FNCS Bugha Icon Cup is a Duos event, but with a twist. In place of the regular Chapter 6 Season 2 battle royale map, the whole event will be held in Reload mode.
If you’ve never played Reload before, it’s a quicker, more frantic version of Fortnite where 40 players enter a smaller map for intense matches. It’s built for fast-paced, action-packed gameplay, ideally for a short-lived competition like this.
Requirements
This cup is open to all players but there are a couple of requirements that you need to meet before you can queue up. First, your Epic account must be set to have two-factor authentication (2FA) turned on. Second, you must be at least account level 50.
Lastly, your account is not Cabined, so parental controls or age restrictions can’t be preventing you from accessing competitive features. As long as you meet those three things, you are good to go.
Date and Time
The tournament is a one-day event taking place on May 6, 2025, and players will have a 2.5-hour time frame to play up to ten matches.
Start times differ by region so it is necessary to log into Fortnite early and check the Compete tab for your local schedule.
Matches are region-locked, so you will only compete against players in your region’s matchmaking.
How To Participate in FNCS Bugha Icon Cup
Participating in the FNCS Bugha Icon Cup is easy. Open Fortnite, go to the Compete tab, and find the FNCS Bugha Icon Cup in the upcoming events list.
From there, you can save the event to keep up to date and get ready to join the queue when your timeslot is due to start. Make sure to find a duo partner beforehand; this is a team event, so solo queuing will not be possible.
Rewards
As for rewards, there are two unique items at stake. The first is the Sweatin’ Spray, which is earned by scoring at least 8 points within the tournament. It’s a fairly achievable goal so even casual players who play for fun have a reasonable chance of leaving with something.
The bigger prize is the Champion Bugha Outfit, a skin based on Fortnite World Cup champion Bugha. The rare cosmetic will be given out to only the top-performing duos in each region, though Epic has not yet disclosed exact placement thresholds or point requirements.
Given past events, we can say that competition will be high and unlock requirements may differ slightly by region.
