Ballistic mode in Fortnite is set to get some much-needed attention in April, as Epic Games has announced two new maps exclusive to the mode will arrive.

Now, they won’t quite be full maps. Instead, Epic Games is referring to them as ‘shells’. So don’t expect the full visual polish of a regular Fortnite map, but they should feature the same level of intricacy.

This gives Epic the opportunity to test out how players will play on the maps so the team can make adjustments ahead of their full release at a later date. This is alongside work on the existing Skyline 10 map, as well.

Epic Games Wants Feedback On Fortnite’s Ballistic Mode

Epic Games is specifically looking for feedback on the following features:

  • Timings
    • Round timer
    • Buy phase timer
    • Detonation timer
    • Defuse timer
  • Weapons
  • Gadgets
  • Movement
  • Shooting
  • Skyline 10 (the map)
  • Credits
  • UI/UX

So everything, basically, and both positive and negative. Epic Games invites you to provide feedback on the official Fortnite Reddit as well as the Discord.

What Else is Coming to Ballistic in April?

All Epic Games announced other than the new maps were ‘new weapons and gadgets’. Sadly, the team announced nothing other than that, so we’re as much in the dark as you.

We do know that there will be another blog post later in March, which will address any feedback received between now and then, as well as what else you can expect to see moving forward.

One change that’s announced for right away will help make the mode a lot more balanced. Starting from today, alongside update 34.10, matches will no longer start unless both teams are full.

That means 10 players must be in the lobby at the beginning or the match will simply fail and restart. Speaking of the latest update.
