It’s official: Epic Games has announced that Fortnite OG Chapter 1, Season 2 will launch on January 31. The announcement was made on X, along with a tease of what to expect.

We see the knight cosmetic front and centre, while the caption, “We’re going full tilt”, absolutely hints towards the return of the Tilted Towers location.

What Originally Debuted in Fortnite Season 2?

Season 2, or ‘Fort Knights’, originally launched on December 14, 2017, well before Fortnite entered its ‘Chapter’s’ phase. It was the first major content drop, introducing a ton of new locations, cosmetics, and gear.

Tilted Towers and Other New Locations

The map slightly changed with the original season 2, as the following new locations arrived alongside it:

  • Tilted Towers
  • Haunted Hills
  • Junk Junction
  • Snobby Shores
  • Shifty Shafts

We would expect all of the above to make a return when OG Season 2 drops.

Battle Pass, Victory Umbrellas, and New Cosmetics

It’s difficult to believe, but the Battle Pass didn’t actually make it into Fortnite until its second season, when it replaced the Season Shop.

In this case, the Battle Pass provided you with a wealth of cosmetics, including the Black Knight outfit at the maximum tier. Expect that outfit to make a return, alongside a remixed variant.

It was also when the Victory Umbrellas system arrived, providing you with a special umbrella if you get a Victory Royale during the aseason.

New and Vaulted Weapons

Season 2 also saw the introduction of weapon vaulting, as well as a host of new gear you could use. The weapons that got vaulted include:

  • Grenade Launcher
  • Ceiling Zapper
  • Damage Trap
  • Directional Jump Pad
  • Wall Dynamo
  • Boogie Bomb
  • Snowball Launcher
  • Submachine Gun

As for new weapons, we got:

  • Damage Trap
  • Small Shield Potion
  • Boogie Bomb
  • Suppressed Pistol
  • Cozy Campfire
  • Chug Jug
  • Minigun
  • Cupid’s Crossbow
  • Impulse Grenade

A few of these weapons, including the Snowball Launcher, Boogie Bomb, and Cupid’s Crossbow were linked to seasonal events and limited time modes, so they may not make a reapparance.

We’d expect that the others will though. Keep an eye on the official Fortnite site to learn more.
