What is CCG in Ghoul://RE?
The C.C.G., short for Commission of Counter Ghoul, is basically humanity’s way of fighting back against the Ghouls. Imagine a group of determined humans pooling their strength and numbers to keep Ghouls under control, something they’ve managed to do for centuries. Since humans on their own can’t take down Ghouls, the C.C.G. decided to turn the tables by using parts of Ghouls to craft some seriously powerful weapons called Quinque.
Nearly every investigator in the C.C.G. gets one of these weapons, which are made from a Ghoul’s own Kagune. If you ever decide to join up with the C.C.G., just talk to the receptionist at the entrance of their headquarters.
CCG Ranking System Explained
Ranking up in the C.C.G. follows a pretty clear order, and with every promotion, you snag an extra 5 stat points. You start out as a Rank 3 Investigator, then move up through Rank 2 and Rank 1 Investigator.
After that, you progress through Second Class Investigator, then Semi-Associate First Class, Associate First Class, First Class Investigator, Associate Special Investigator, and finally hit Special Class Investigator which is the max rank, where you’ll have 50 stat points in total.
How To Get Your First Quinque
Now, once you become a Rank 1 Investigator, you finally get the chance to grab your own Quinque. But this isn’t handed to you on a silver platter. Instead, it’ll set you back ¥1.5k.
After you’ve met all the requirements and spoken with the NPC at the CCG base, they’ll give you something called a “Briefcase.”
This item is your key to unlocking a Quinque. What you have to do is track down a Ghoul who’s already unlocked their Kagune, wait for them to be knocked out, and then use your Briefcase on them.
Nail it, and you’ll get a random Quinque. Just be careful: if you die while holding the Briefcase, you’ll have to cough up the fee again.
Having your first Quinque is super important because it’s also the gateway to crafting. To get into crafting, head up to the second floor of the CCG building and talk to the NPC there.
How Crafting Works in Ghoul://RE
When you first check out the crafting interface, you’ll notice that “Current Blueprints” is pretty empty, except for a few basic materials. To start unlocking Quinque recipes, you need to find and use “Blueprint” items. You can score these by taking down NPCs or during events.
Once you use a Blueprint, a random Quinque recipe will show up at the research center and then appear in your crafting interface the next time you check it. Most of the materials for crafting are just out there waiting to be found, though there are some that you have to actually craft yourself, like those Kakuja Fragments.
