How To Cook in Grow a Garden

Cooking is a new feature that lets you turn your fruits and veggies into dishes like sandwiches, burgers, pies, and even sushi. Each dish has a specific recipe made from ingredients you’ve been growing. Once you’ve cooked something, you can feed it to Chris P who is a hungry pig who rewards you based on what you serve.

To start cooking, gather the ingredients you need for a recipe (you only need the key ones). Then head to the cooking station in the main lobby and follow these steps:

  1. Hold an ingredient in your hand and walk up to the pot.
  2. Press E to add it in. Do this until you’ve added the required ingredients (usually two or three).
  3. Once the needed items are in, a timer will pop up showing how long it will take to cook.
  4. Click the Cook button to start.
  5. Wait for the timer to finish, then go back to the pot and press E again to collect your food.

Tip: You don’t need to add more than the required ingredients. Adding extra fruits won’t change the food or improve the results, so don’t waste your crops.

Feeding the Pig NPC (Chris P)

Once you’ve cooked a dish, you can take it to the Pig NPC named Chris P. He’s not just standing around. Every hour, he changes what food he wants. There’s a speech bubble above his head that will tell you what he’s in the mood for.

Here’s how you feed him:

  1. Walk up to Chris P and press E to open his menu.
  2. Hold the food item he’s craving.
  3. Choose the option that says something like “Try this food I cooked up!”
  4. He’ll taste it, judge it, and then give you a reward.

Helpful Tip: Feeding Chris P the exact food he wants gives you a better chance at getting rare rewards.
