In Grow a Garden, mutations are more or less the key to turbocharging your plants. The Chakra mutation is one of the strongest ones you can acquire among them, providing you with a huge 15x multiplier. However, if you’re hoping to unlock it easily, think again. This mutation can only be inherited by a single type (and very rare) pet: the Kitsune.

So, here is a step-by-step guide on how to get your hands on the Chakra mutation in Grow a Garden.

In order to obtain the Chakra mutation, you need to have the Kitsune pet. And, unfortunately, Kitsune is one of the rarest pets in the game. It will be found only in Zen eggs, which are 30 Chi apiece.

The twist is this: the drop rate of a Kitsune is only 0.08 percent. That is crazy low. As a result, you are likely to be breaking a lot of Zen eggs before you even get to see one. This is not a game that gives itself away easily. Therefore, in case you are serious about pursuing the Chakra mutation, be ready to grind.

Acquiring a Kitsune is rather rewarding, not only because it is rare, but also because it is useful in some way (unlike some pets that are more of a decoration than anything useful).

After you finally get your Kitsune, it does not simply mutate your plants with the Chakra mutation. The Kitsune instead copies plants in other players gardens and brings them to you. Whenever it does this, there is a possibility that the plant that it delivers will have the Chakra mutation, which will provide you with that delicious 15x multiplier.

That is where the true value lies. A plant with a Chakra mutation is a huge difference when you are attempting to increase production or gain resources more quickly.

It is also possible that the Kitsune might use a Foxfire Chakra mutation rather than the normal one with a slight possibility. This one is even more uncommon and is not something you can expect, more of a nice surprise in case it does.
