On the lookout for the Jujutsu Odyssey beginner’s guide? Jujutsu Odyssey is a cool new game that’s easy to get started with once you know a few basics. So without further delay, let’s check them out.

Beginner’s Guide for Jujutsu Odyssey

Character Setup

When you first launch the game, pick your save slot and head into the customization menu to tweak your character’s look.

If you join a clan like Gojo, you’ll even see a special “Gojo” tab in your skill tree, where you can unlock unique abilities like Rhythm Echo or Six Eyes.

JPhone and Map

Once you’re in the game world, make sure you bind your jphone to a quick-access slot by pressing M to open your inventory as this jphone is super handy because it shows the map and tracks your quests, so you always know where to go next.

Combat Basics

Combat in Jujutsu Odyssey is pretty straightforward. To defeat enemies, just hold down F as you get close and perform a combo attack.

After your first combo, keep holding F and spam your primary attack button (M1). If you want to mix it up, you can even try an air combo by right-clicking to perfect block, then following up with another combo.

This simple, repetitive move set is effective because most enemies aren’t too tough to beat. The game world is huge, so moving between maps can take a while if you’re on foot.

Luckily, you can use fast travel by finding an NPC named Eichi who will teleport you to different spots around the map instantly.

Earning Cursed Techniques

There are also three ways to earn curse techniques, which are special abilities that make your character stronger. You might come across a curse womb on the map every one to two hours—just be quick, because it disappears after 30 minutes.

Alternatively, after taking the Jujutsu Tech entrance exam and beating a boss, you’ll get a random curse womb as a reward. The third way is by taking on the Azoro Curse Spirit, a world boss that appears when your jphone gives you a “20” alert.

In this battle, only the player who deals the most damage gets the prize—like a cloning Corb. On top of that, there are two fighting styles you can choose from: one taught by Karu at Juu for 25,000 in-game currency, and a Shadow Trainer style available for 15,000 if you meet a Mastery level requirement (Domain Expansion Unlimited Void 125 Mastery) plus you need 12 skill points.

How To Level Up

Once you hit level 20, you can head to Jujutsu Tech to start your entrance exam by talking to Gojo. This exam sets you on the path to earning your first grade, and then you can improve by speaking with the principal to kick off an in-game transmission and start taking curse missions that will eventually let you level up your grade.
