MapleStory is gearing up to release a new update later today, December 20. The version 256.2.0 patch notes focus primarily on fixing bugs and other issues, but there are two highlights.
The first allows you to add two new armour boxes to the pet pick-up exception list. So, if you’ve been getting frustrated at your pets picking up stuff you don’t want, this should please you.
Another big feature is that the reset time for the Christmas minigames now coincides with the regular weekly reset times. Let’s take a look at the full patch notes.
When Does MapleStory v256.2.0 Release?
MapleStory’s new update arrives on December 20 following a maintenance downtime period. Here’s when it will run depending on your timezone:
- GMT: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- ET: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- PT: 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Following this downtime, the patch will be available across all servers.

- Resolved an issue where Neville was not selling Gold Emblems for Kanna, Hayato and Lynn characters.
- Resolved an issue preventing some players from entering the Ghastly the Snowman portal.
- Resolved an issue where Ornaments were dropping after 100 were collected for the “Do You Fear What I Fear?” event.
- Resolved an issue causing the “Ghastly the Snowman” portal to appear after the 3 time limit per day has been reached.
- Resolved an issue where the ‘?’ button in the “Do You Fear What I Fear?” event UI was displaying incorrect text.
- Resolved an issue where Kanna characters were unable to complete the “[Silent Crusade] Strange Letter” quest.
