The Monster Hunter Wilds training area has finally arrived in the game as part of the second public beta. It was infamously left out of the previous one, leaving players scratching their heads as to how to practice the various features of the game.
The problem is, it’s not exactly clear where the Training Grounds are, so a lot of you are still wondering exactly how to get there, and that’s what we’re here to help you with. We’ll even detail what you can expect from using the new area.
Where is the Monster Hunter Wilds Training Area?
You can access the Monster Hunter Wilds training area via a doorway just next to the ship at the very rear of the base camp.
If you try and interact with the door and it doesn’t take you to the training area, that likely means you haven’t beat the first quest.
That’s a prerequisite for accessing the new training area, so make sure to progress that far in the story to allow you to get stuck in.
What’s in the Training Grounds?
Much like in previous Monster Hunter experiences, the training area allows you to test out the variety of weapons without worrying about a huge monster sneaking up on you.
The weapons you can wield in Monster Hunter Wild include:
- Great Sword
- Sword and Shield
- Dual Blades
- Long Sword
- Hunting Horn
- Lance
- Gunlance
- Hammer
- Switch Axe
- Charge Blade
- Insect Glaive
- Bow
- Light Bowgun
- Heavy Bowgun
You can test these out on the training dummy within the Training Grounds to see how much damage you can wield. Or, to test out various moves and combos.
In addition to this, you can also test out any consumable items you own without worrying about losing them. Using a consumable item doesn’t remove it from your inventory.
Lastly, if you faint while training (impressive, but it is possible) you will automatically revive. Basically, it presents a completely risk free environment free from worry.
