After Multiversus‘s return from the dead in May, we all wondered how Warner Bros’s Smash Bros-like might take shape following its hiatus. Thankfully, the devs at Player First Games have been working hard, adding new content such as events, stages, and new fighters, and that continues with this latest character drop.
September saw the anticipated reveal of the very popular Powerpuff Girls to the fighting line up. This is part of season three, which is called Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice.
So how do you do better than the Powerpuff Girls? Well how about adding the current Queen of the Amazon? Yes, Amazonian warrior Nubia has been added to the roster on October 15 as a member of the Assassin class. Check out Nubia’s new gameplay trailer below.
What Are Nubia’s Abilities?
Here’s a breakdown of Nubia’s abilities and what they do:
- Pull of Charybdis: This ability allows you to grab your opponent with her long spear and kick them away.
- A Royal step: Release a burst of energy that knocks back enemies while cleansing allies.
- Strike of Understanding: Charge up a thrust that will break through armour and move you forward.

How do I Get Nubia?
Nubia is available in Multiversus right now, but there’s a catch if you want to play as her right away: by paying. You will have to fork out $9.99, 1,250 Gleamium, or a character Ticket (found in the founder’s pack).
You can also grab her Future Queen: Nubia’s Strength pack, which includes an additional skin, announcer pack, taunt, and two new badges. But that will set you back a whopping $29.99, which is certainly steep!
Luckily there’s an alternative and it will be the route I think most of you will take. You guessed it: grinding. From October 18 you can unlock Nubia with 6,000 fighter currency. That’s a nice feature for those who don’t want to fork out any real cash.

Does Multiversus Update 1.3.3 Include Anything Else?
There’s a ton! This includes the Wacky Weekend queue, which, as the name suggests, only opens between Friday and Sunday. Participate to get involved in these game modes:
- Volleyball
- Spotlight
- 3v1
- Counter
- Splat
There’s also a brand new casual queue for those that just want to chill.
We’ve got a bunch of new maps:
- The City of Townsville
- Trophy’s E.D.G.E. 3
- Dexter’s Laboratory 3
- Space
- Heach
And, as you can expect, an absolute ton of balancing changes for pretty much all characters. You can read those full patch notes on the official site.
What’s Coming Up For Multiversus?
Día de Muertos-Verse kicks off on October 22, representing Multiversus’ Halloween event. We’re not sure exactly what to expect other than that the home screen will get a brand new theme.
