So, the Snowy Island update just dropped in Prospecting, and it’s a grind, but honestly a really fun one once you figure out what you’re doing. When I first hopped in, I was completely lost trying to figure out how to even reach the island, so I thought I’d put everything together in one place for anyone else who doesn’t want to spend hours running in circles.

How To Get to Snowy Island in Prospecting

A lot of people get stuck here. To actually get to Snowy Island, you need to head over to Canandor Island (the same place where Volcano Island is). At the very end of the dock, there’s this little hidden raft with an Arctic Traveler NPC standing next to it.

Now here’s the trick: the traveler says something about needing fire to break the ice. That’s your hint, you need to equip the Dragon Flame Shovel. Once you do that, the raft becomes usable, and boom, you’re on your way to Snowy Island.

Pro tip: as soon as you’re there, switch back to your best shovel (Fossilized or Icebreaker). The Dragon Flame is only for unlocking travel, and it’s not nearly as good for actual digging.

First Steps on the Island

The very first thing you should do is unlock the fast travel point. Trust me, you’ll be going up and down this island so many times that you’ll hate yourself if you don’t.

After that, here’s who you want to talk to:

  • The Researcher (by the campfire) – He gives you quests with rewards like XP, money, and most importantly blueprints.
  • The Apprentice Blacksmith – Another quest NPC. His rewards are also blueprints.
  • The Blacksmith – This is where you actually craft new items once you’ve unlocked their blueprints.

New Craftable Gear

Here’s where it gets exciting. The blueprints let you craft new gear, and honestly the stats on some of these are nuts.

  • Cryogenic Preserver (Ring)
  • Myrral Ring
  • Frosthorn Pendant (Exotic Necklace)

The Frosthorn Pendant deserves its own mention. It gives you 100–400 Luck at max, which is insane, plus +200 Strength, more capacity, and bigger size. The downside is slower dig speed, but honestly, the trade-off is worth it. I’d grind this item over almost anything else right now.

How To Climb The Mountain

From the blacksmith’s hut, start climbing up the mountain.

  • First, you’ll meet a Builder NPC. He needs resources to build a bridge. You can farm pretty much everything he needs down at the Frostbite River. Do this quest, it’s required to progress.
  • Along the way, you’ll see the Freezing Prospector and other NPCs. Some give quests, others are just there for lore.
  • At the Frostbite Waterfall, unlock the fast travel. Then look around for the ladders, it’s easy to miss them the first time.

The climb itself is a mix of ladders and some parkour jumps. It’s not too bad, but don’t be surprised if you mess up once or twice.

The Mountain NPC Quest

At the top, there’s a big NPC who asks for:

  • 500 Blue Ice
  • 20 Tourmalines
  • Some other resources
  • Plus a Volcanic Core and a Vortessence

Now, this part took me a while. The mythics (Volcanic Core and Vortessence) are the real bottleneck. If you don’t already have them, you’ll have to go back and grind on Volcano Island. This is exactly why I always say: never sell your mythics. Updates like this make them valuable later.

Once you finally hand over everything, he’ll open the path to the Frozen Peak.

Frozen Peak Rewards

This is where things get good.

  • Unlock the fast travel point first.
  • On the left side, you’ll see the new tools:
    • Frostbite Pan – 10 billion coins
    • Frostbite Shovel – 10 billion coins
    • Arctic Sluice – lower luck than previous sluices, but way higher efficiency

The Frostbite Pan and Shovel are easily the best gear in the game right now. The pan alone gives a massive luck boost over the fossilized version, which makes it worth the grind.

There’s also a Mountain Climber NPC nearby. If you bring him a Frost Shard, he’ll trade you a bag of meteor fragments. That’s insanely useful, because spawning your own meteors means easy farming whenever you want.

The Forge Machine – 6 Star Items

This one honestly caught me by surprise. Inside the Magma Furnace, there’s now a new Forge Machine where you can combine two 5-star items into a 6-star version.

The catch? It costs 1,000 shards. This is very much endgame content, but imagine having a 6-star Frosthorn Pendant or Fossilized Crown. That’s the kind of stuff that breaks the game in your favor.

New Potions

Two new potions are in rotation with the Traveling Merchant:

  • Blitz Potion (200m coins) – Boosts dig speed and shake speed.
  • Stability Potion – Gives 100% Modify Boost.

There might be more, but so far these two are confirmed. If you see them in stock, grab them, they’re worth it.
