PUBG has announced that it’s delaying its proposed enhanced penalty measures to prevent the use of keyboard and mouse on console. The reason cited is due to consoles allowing USB keyboards and mice, though the details are light.
Krafton has stressed that it’s against the use of keyboard and mouse on console, and considers it an unauthorised method of play.
Fortunately, the delay is only a matter of days, and will now arrive on November 27 at 4:00 AM GMT. The penalty, in whatever form it will take, will arrive across Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game.
When Will PUBG Release the Keyboard and Mouse Console Penalty?
Krafton has announced that it will release the delayed penalty for using a keyboard and mouse in the console version of PUBG on November 26 at 4:00 AM GMT.
What is the Enhanced Penalty For Using a Keyboard and Mouse?
Here’s the issue: Krafton has released zero details on exactly what form the penalty will take. It could block keyboard and mouse entirely from use, ban players if they choose to opt for this method, or provide some form of score or reward penalty.
If you read the full post on the official site, the wording is enhanced penalty.
Hopefully we will learn more following the release. Ideally, PUBG goes into full details about what the ban entails without providing details that will help exploiters bypass the penalty.
What Else is Going on in PUBG?
In recent news, Krafton announced that it has extended the PGC 2024 Grand Finals to three days. That also means an increase to 18 matches.
Earlier in November, we also received update 32.2, which included the temporary Hot Drop mode that you can play right now.
There was also a new inflatable boat vehicle, the return of Crafter Pass, and the usual series of bug fixes.
