So Frieren Spec is finally here in Sakura Stand, and I won’t lie, this one’s actually pretty fun to unlock. It’s not just “kill boss, get spec” like some of the others. You’ve got to farm a bit, craft something, and do a couple quests. Here’s how I unlocked Frieren Spec in Sakura Stand, and what I wish I knew before starting.

How To Unlock Frieren Spec in Sakura Stand

Step 1: Craft the Old Staff

First thing you need is the Old Staff. That’s your key to everything. To craft it, you’ll need 5 Magic Ore and 3 Soul Wood.

Magic Ore spawns in the cave near Muzan. You’ll know you’re in the right spot when you see other people running around grabbing the same thing. If it’s empty, just server hop. I farmed mine in like ten minutes, but I got lucky, sometimes the spawn rate is not your friend.

Soul Wood is in Hueco Mundo. This part was annoying for me just because I hate having to go back and forth, so I stayed until I had all three. Highly recommend doing the same, or you’ll be kicking yourself later when you have to go back again.

Once you have your materials, craft the Old Staff and use it while Standless. Boom, you’re now a Novice Mage. That’s basically step one done.

Step 2: Talk to the Archmage NPC

After that, find the Archmage NPC. He’s hanging out near Mambo Beach. Talk to him and he’ll give you a quest that’s basically “prove you actually know how to use magic.”

Step 3: Complete the First Quest

Here’s what you gotta do:

  • Kill 10 Hollows with Novice Mage
  • Kill 10 Curses with Novice Mage
  • Collect 5 Sukuna Fingers
  • Hand over 5 Flame Grimoires

The kills aren’t bad, but the Grimoires can be a pain because they drop from boxes. Just run around, open every box you see, and pray to RNG. Took me longer than I want to admit.

Step 4 Complete the Second Quest

Once that’s done, he’ll give you another quest, which is much shorter:

  • Kill 3 Golems with Novice Mage
  • Give him 2 more Flame Grimoires

And that’s it. Frieren unlocked. Honestly, the hardest part was farming the Grimoires, but I was listening to music while grinding so it wasn’t too bad.

Honestly, I kind of like this questline. It’s not too complicated, and it actually makes you play the game instead of just clicking on an NPC. Frieren itself feels really good once you get it, so the grind is worth it. My only advice is to get all your materials first before you even think about quests. Saves you the headache of running back and forth later.

If you’re farming solo, pop into a quiet server so you’re not fighting other players for spawns. If you’ve got friends online, do it together, makes the whole thing way less boring.
