To be fair, that’s the best way to describe this one, surely? Strinova is Overwatch 2 if it was third person and all of the characters were anime girls.
You play as ‘Superstrings’, which are anime characters with a variety of different abilities. Perhaps you might dash away from bullets or pop up a wall to protect your teammates. There are a wide variety of characters and abilities to pick from.

Strinova is Multi-Dimensional
One feature that we particularly appreciate is the ability to turn into paper – an actual cartoon – to avoid bullets and slide through thin gaps in the wall. We haven’t quite seen that in a shooter yet.
Other than that, it plays a lot like a traditional shooter. You’ve got modes like Demolition and Team Deathmatch at the moment, with more arriving at a later date.
You will need to like multiplayer to enjoy this one though, as it doesn’t feature anything but. The closed beta is live right now and will run until October 21. Head on over to Steam to check it out as part of Steam Next Fest.

Strinova Has Been in Development For a While
Strinova has been in development for some time, and held a previous Closed Beta back in June. We’ve been waiting patiently for the shooter to make a return, and, finally, we get a chance to play it again.
It’s not clear what’s changed between the two closed betas though, as iDreamSky, the development team hasn’t made it clear.
You can pre-register on the official site to get rewards at launch, including cosmetic sprays, skins, weapons, and in-game resources that will help you progress faster.

Are There Any Other Free Games Worth Playing?
Just this morning, we covered Supervive, a League of Legends-style battle royale shooter. It borrows from Overwatch 2, Fortnite, and MOBAs to create the ultimate free game and you can check it out now.
