Throne and Liberty has detailed the upcoming Castle Siege event, which will kick off on November 17. It will see the guild that currently owns Stoneguard Castle on each server fighting back against enemy guilds that wish to claim it.

Opposing guilds can attempt to reclaim the castle with one of three (or all) different methods. You can either small down the walls by transforming into a golem, sneak through the sewers to perform a surprise attack, or take a ride on a certain flying whale in an assault from above.

Let’s take a closer look at how Castle Siege works in Throne and Liberty.

How Castle Siege Works

Here’s how Castle Siege works at a glance:

  • You have 45 minutes to successfully capture or defend the throne room of Stoneguard Castle
  • The defending guild teleports into the castle and has to defeat all invaders
  • Attacking guilds have to choose how to assault the castle: via Golem, Sewer, or Whale
  • You can use Pillage Stones to steal Sollant and Lucent from the castle vault

The First Defender or, in other words, the guild that currently owns Stoneguard Castle, has to defend it from opposing guilds when the Castle Siege event kicks off on November 12.

Castle Siege takes place over 45 minutes and sees members of the defending guild battling off the opposition, while attacking guilds need to claim the throne room to claim Stoneguard Castle.

There are three methods of entry: via a variety of Golems, by sneaking through the sewers, or hitching a ride on the gigantic flying whale.

Let’s take a look at the various mechanics in detail:

Siege Ruins and Golems

You can capture Siege Ruins outside of the castle, which allow your guild to teleport to the event. You can also summon Siege Golems to help in your assault.

There are four of these, and here’s how they perform:

GolemUsage
Stone CrasherDestroy buildings at melee range and pick enemies off walls
Battle CarriersTransport attackers to the wall
Gate HammersDestroy buildings at range and reduce damage
Jump AttackersCan scale walls

Gate Levers

If you manage to breach the wall, you can open the castle gate by finding and interacting with a special set of levels.

There are three gates in total, and you need at least two players to operate each lever.

Pillage and Resurrection Stones

There are two special stones that you can use to help you in your assault or defence: Pillage Stones and Resurrection Stones.

Collect Pillage Stones you every five minutes you will collect Lucent and Sollant from the castle’s vault for each one you have captured.

Resurrection Stones, meanwhile, allow you to respawn closer to the action. Again, you need to capture them to make the most of them.

How to Capture the Throne Room

This is where the Castle Siege event is at its most fun. If a guild leader can make it to the throne, they can interact with it to become the Usurper. What a name.

This transforms them into gigantic knights who grow in power depending on the number of allies nearby. Usurpers need inly survive for three minutes to capture the throne room.

They then have to hold the room until the timer expires.

What’s the Legion Guild?

Whoever holds the throne room when the event ends are promoted to the Legion Guild, and controls Solisium. This allows them to:

  • Set tax rates
  • Manage the castle
  • Decide when players can purchase certain items
  • Participate in the Tax Delivery event
