Type Soul is filled to the brim with many races one of which is called Fullbringer. The Fullbringer race currently lacks polish in Type Soul, likely because it’s newer and still undergoing adjustments. Despite this, Fullbringers have some of the most creative and impactful abilities in the game, making the grind absolutely worth it.

However, as is tradition, it has several progression phases that one must complete in order to fully unlock its potential.

Phase 1: From Fresh Spawn to Grade 2

When you first spawn in, you’ll start as a basic Fullbringer. Your first job is simple: farm Mission Boards.

Steps:

  1. Open the Mission Board.
  2. Complete as many quests as possible.
  3. Grip NPCs to increase your grade progression bar (visible at the bottom of your screen).

Tip: This part isn’t complicated. You’re just grinding low-level quests until your XP bar gets you to Grade 2.

It doesn’t take long; around 10 to 20 minutes of solid grinding. Make sure your mission completions include combat, as that contributes to XP gain.

Phase 2: Unlocking Your Fullbring Ability

Once you hit Grade 2, you can unlock your Fullbring Element. This is essentially your unique fighting style, similar to Shikai or Resurrección for other races.

You’ll get three core moves, which already puts Fullbringers ahead of some other races in terms of versatility.

Fullbring Element Options:

  • Time Tells No Lies
  • Book of the End
  • Zangetsu
  • Dollhouse
  • Chest
  • Devil’s Arm

Each of these has its own mechanics and flavor. For example, Time Tells No Lies is a standout pick because of its utility and raw damage potential.

Important Mechanics:

  • You cannot use weapon rerolls as a Fullbringer.
  • Instead, you use element rerolls, which determine your weapon automatically based on the element.

This system is actually more elegant than it sounds. By tying weapons to elements, it adds thematic consistency, but it does limit your customization.

Phase 3: Getting Your Element (Meditation Quest)

Step-by-Step:

  1. Head to Fake Karakura Town (use Execution if needed).
  2. Press the comma key (,) to open the UI.
  3. Locate and speak with Ginjo.
  4. Ginjo will give you a quest that involves doing missions and meditating.

How to Meditate:

  • Kill an NPC with your weapon drawn.
  • Press M to begin meditation.
  • Fill the purple bar on the right side of your screen.
  • Once full, press M again to exit, then press M a third time to enter your Inner Realm.

Phase 4: Inner Realm Combat Trial

Here, you’ll face off against waves of Hollows:

  1. Round 1 – 3 Large Friskers, 1 Small Frisker
  2. Round 2 – 1 Menos, 3 Friskers
  3. Round 3 – Same as Round 1
  4. Round 4 – 1 Adjuchas (final boss)

The purple bar now acts as a timer. If it runs out, you die automatically.

Combat Tips:

  • I personally recommend Kendo for reliability, but Kido has some strong potential.
  • The Kido move “Raikōhō” (or a similar ranged spike) can hit the final boss from a distance if you’re running low on time.

The Inner Realm isn’t especially difficult, but you need to manage your time. If you burn time on the Friskers or Menos, you won’t survive the Adjuchas round. Clean execution matters here.

After finishing the trial, speak to your inner soul. This completes your Fullbring Element unlock.

Phase 5: Progressing to Elite Grade

This is the easiest part of the Fullbringer progression.

All you have to do: Keep grinding Mission Boards.

  • Grip NPCs to raise your XP.
  • Keep an eye on the bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • No hidden mechanics—just repetition.

It took me only about 20 minutes to go from Grade 2 to Elite Grade. That’s extremely fast by Type Soul standards. Make sure to do this before any future updates potentially rebalance XP gain.

Phase 6: Unlocking Your True Form (Currently Unavailable)

True Form (comparable to Bankai) is currently unobtainable because Ranked and Raid modes are shut down. However, here’s how it will work once they return:

Stage 1:

  • Must be Elite Grade.
  • Win 13 Raids or 26 Ranked Matches.

Stage 2:

  • Kill 1 Bawabawa Boss.
  • Kill 80 Hollows.
  • Kill 15 Elite Grip players.

Stage 3:

  • Complete a minigame (not yet revealed).
