Valorant has detailed some of the new additions in the latest update in its latest 9.08 patch notes, with new agent updates, map changes, and a whole new team death match map for us to enjoy named Glitch.

New TDM Map Glitch and Map Updates
The Biggest news from the new patch notes is the addition of Glitch. The new TDM map puts the players in a duel-themed arena with plenty of dynamic gameplay opportunities.
Riot Games has also implemented the changes to the map Sunset and have released the map rotations they outlined in a previous update video back on September 20. This includes adding Pearl and Split back into the competitive queue while booting out Icebox and Lotus.
Changes to Sunset are far overdue and with the latest update we hope it will add more variety to matches that don’t just suit one gameplay style. With changes that address defensibility, post plant, and provide more ways to play, the new changes seem extremely positive.
You can check out the video below from September 20 that shows these Tweaks.
Updates To Agents
A list of Agents have received updates so lets take a look at who and what has changed.
Gekko
Patch 7.12 gave Gekko a nice buff, but Riot noticed little downsides to his core play pattern. The team has introduced changes to his globules to push you to reclaim buddies faster and punish you for being too reckless.
These changes include:
- Reduced time in world from 20s – 15s
- Reclaim time increased from 1s – 1.5s
The Dizzy and Wingman abilities have received a bit of a buff, but won’t have an effect on Gekko’s power. Instead, they reduce the cases where you hear and see them target and debuff an enemy only to find the targeted enemy unaffected.

Dizzy changes include:
- Time active after being thrown and forming is reduced from 1.5s – 1s.
- Dizzy’s targeting algorithm has been updated to be more reliable.
- Dizzy’s goop flash now also blinds the minimap of affected players.
As for Wingman:
- Increased the angle of the cone concuss area from 45 degrees – 65 degrees.
- Get unique visuals when Wingman turns into a globule after planting a Spike.
And, finally, Thrash:
- Ultimate points increased 7 – 8
Yoru
The effects on a handful of abilities were not showing on Yoru’s fake out clone. This lead to it being far too easy to tell who the real Yoru was. Riot are going through these abilities to make sure they interact properly with Yoru’s fakeout.
Blind abilities will now work the same on the fakeout as if you were a real agent, such as Gekko’s Dizzy and Vysee’s Arc Rose. Vysee will also play her successful blind celebration lines when blinding a Yoru fakout, along with Cypher’s neural theft and Clove’s Meddle both showing their indented effect on Yoru’s fakeout.

Skye and Jett
These two will now not stop at the window in Ascent when using Jett’s Tailwind and Skye’s Trailblazer. They will now smash through it, continuing to the other side.
Less Distracting Skins?
A handful of skins have been tweaked, and a few scope reticles have been updated so they’re less distracting for the player.
As for the updated skins heres a list below:
- Araxys Operator
- Valiant Hero Operator
- Reaver Operator
- Gothic Marshall
