Wildgate is globally releasing on July 22 but as is tradition, many players have some common questions like will the game support features like proximity chat, crossplay and PvE?

If you’re also among them, you’ve come to the right place, as we’re about to give you a breakdown of whether proximity chat, crossplay and PvE features are supported in Wildgate or not.

Does Wildgate Have Proximity Chat?

Wildgate indeed offers the voice chat feature, which means you can talk with your crew members while playing. However, it isn’t clear at this point whether the game will have proximity chat or not.

For those who don’t know, proximity chat allows you to hear other players when they are near your character in the game world.

Suppose you hear a rival crew talking just off you. Their voices sound like they are shouting aboard ship, but die away as they pass out of hearing. It makes communication seem authentic and strained, particularly when you bump into strangers.

At the moment the devs do not confirm that Wildgate will have this proximity chat setup, but we will probably know more when the game releases.

Does Wildgate Have Crossplay?

Wildgate is a crossplay-ready game, so anyone playing on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X or S can join the same game sessions.

It is great when you are planning to play with friends on other consoles. It also has the cross-progression feature, i.e., any gear, cosmetics, or upgrades you can unlock on one platform will be transferable to the others, provided that your accounts are connected. In fact, you can enable or disable crossplay whenever you want.

Does Wildgate Have PvE?

Wildgate, thankfully, also offers PvE elements. When a person says PvE, they mean Player vs Environment, i.e., fighting with computer-controlled opponents rather than other players. Your crew will be able to sail around the map and identify locations that are swarming with AI enemies, puzzles, and delicious loot.

It even has a specific Versus AI mode, which will make your team play against only computer-controlled characters, so in case you want to make it a little bit more relaxed or simply co-op, it is a good option.

It becomes even hotter when PvE merges with some PvP: you may be killing the AI-controlled enemies and collide with other player-controlled crews. That increases the tension, especially in high-risk zones where the reward is great but so is the possibility of ambush.
