It is not easy to locate them because they are usually hidden by riddles, not by clear markers on the map. Therefore, here are the details for each of the eight Trial of Aql locations in Dune Awakening.
All Eight Trial of Aql Locations in Dune Awakening
- First Trial: Mihna Cavern, Hagga Basin South
- Where: Center of Hagga Basin South, near a dew flower field by a raised rock formation.
- How to Find: Follow the purple quest marker (~2,000m from sub-fief) after your first Spice Dream. Check compass for cave entrance; sandstorms may shift it.
- Second Trial: The Deep Struggle, Eastern Vermillius Gap
- Where: Moisture-Sealed Cave near Hagga Basin border, east of Wreck of the Actaeon, among tall rocks.
- How to Find: Riddle: “Para-southeast of Mirzabah’s hammer… shattered teeth… between molar and incisor.” Head south of Trade Post, clear bandits, enter cave, and find altar underground.
- Third Trial: Cave of the Lost Pilgrim, Western Vermillius Gap
- Where: South of Wreck of Pallas, in a moisture-sealed cave with a pink icon, past Mendia’s Gate.
- How to Find: Riddle: “Para-west of Mirzabah’s hammer… stone table… para-north to purple eye cave.” Go to northern rock cluster, defeat shielded enemies, and listen to altar recording.
- Fourth Trial: The Hollow Hammer, Eastern Vermillius Gap
- Where: Hammer-shaped rock formation near western border of Eastern Vermillius.
- How to Find: Riddle: “Iron Hammer beats the dead… head awaits.” Climb the east side using a Suspensor Belt with a strong power pack.
- Fifth Trial: Hidden Test Cave, Hagga Rift
- Where: Eastern Hagga Rift, on Hagga Basin’s border.
- How to Find: Find the moisture-sealed cave in eastern cliffs. Follow the path to the altar for sandworm manipulation trial.
- Sixth Trial: Devil’s Eye Cavern, Jabal Eifrit Al-Sharq
- Where: Northeast map corner, north of fifth trial’s cave.
- How to Find: No riddle; head to Jabal Eifrit Al-Sharq, find damaged altar, and collect Shigawire recording.
- Seventh Trial: Hagga Rift Depths
- Where: Unnamed cave in deep Hagga Rift.
- How to Find: Riddle: “Red teeth… gaping maw… depths… hidden from storm and worm.” Descend Hagga Rift to find the cave and altar.
- Eighth Trial: Sietch Ta’lab, Eastern Shield Wall
- Where: Fremen stronghold, north of Western Vermillius Gap.
- How to Find: No riddle; locate Sietch Ta’lab and complete “Footsteps of the Fremen” at the altar.
