The Fortnite rumour mill is swirling once again, with notable Fortnite leaker HypeX announcing that three Disney villains will arrive in the next update. Please note: we said leak. This is far from a confirmation.
Those villains are none other than Captain Hook from Peter Pan, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations, and Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent.
Can They Hold Guns Though?
Scroll a little down from that post on Twitter and you will see an apt question:
This harkens back to yesterday’s story, where we revealed that Disney isn’t comfortable with certain characters using guns. We speculated that this could mean you can’t use select Fortnite Disney skins in certain game modes. Like, say, battle royale.
That would set a pretty interesting precedent for Fortnite moving forward. Could this mean that the mode it built its enormous player base on will become less important? Will Disney, who has acquired an equity stake in Epic Games, change the direction of our favourite shooter?
Time will tell.
When Will Cruella, Maleficent, and Hook Arrive in Fortnite?
According to another Fortnite leaker, iFireMonkey, the next update will launch on October 11. This will introduce the ‘Fortnitemares update’, which will see the Halloween event return once again to the island.
Disney villains don’t exactly scream horror to us, but we’re still glad to see them in the game.
What Else is Happening in Fortnite This Month?
The LEGO Islands experience had a huge update on October 4, introducing the Chasers vs Hunters experience. This challenged you to explore the map, collecting Sand. You can then redeem this virtual currency for tools you can use to capture territory from your opponents.
As the name suggests, half of you are Dream Chasers and the other half Nightmare Hunters. It’s an 8v8 mode that’s well worth checking out.
Three new experiences will arrive in LEGO islands this month. LEGO Monster Fishing lands on October 17, LEGO Parkour Worlds on October 24, and the spooky LEGO Dark Space on October 30 – right in time for Halloween.
