Once again, Epic Games has proved that they’re king of the commercials with their new Fortnite Slurp Rush ad campaign. For those who don’t know, Fortnite recently launched a new map called Slurp Rush for their Reload gameplay mode. To promote that, they filmed a commercial in the retro style that has definitely paid off, as it’s winning the fans hearts.

A quick look at the Fortnite Slurp Rush advertisement

The advertisement kicks off with a mother coming back to the home from the grocery store in a hot summer.

The kids, who are hoping for something exciting, get disappointed as their mother unpacks regular items such as vegetables. However, their disappointment quickly turns into excitement when she surprises them with two bottles of Slurp Juice, a loot item also found in Fortnite.

The moment the kids drink the Slurp Juice, they get energized by its effect just like players in-game who use the item. But the magic doesn’t stop there. As the kids run on the streets with Slurp Juice effect, the ad playfully shows a vintage car transforming into a modern car and even an old man watering his plants receives a skateboard from the kids as a surprise, showcasing how cool the Slurp Juice is.

The commercial wraps up with a quick promotion of the new Slurp Rush map in Fortnite Reload.

As you might expect or read in the headline, the new Slurp Rush commercial has definitely paid off as it has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the Fortnite fans.

Players on Reddit are impressed by the ad’s creativity as it not only showcases the elements from the game but also wins the heart with the Retro style.

One user said,

“I’m loving every second of this advertisement,”

While another wrote

“Now this is an ad with personality. I loved this lmfao.”

Comments also poured in praising Epic Games’ ability to crack the marketing stuff. “Fortnite always kills with marketing,” one user noted.

Perhaps the most telling comment came from a fan who simply said

“Miss when commercials were this silly.”

It simply shows you can reach a broader audience and even get lots of love by getting creative, not by showcasing products in a boring way.
