It’s official: Fortnite OG will make a return on December 6. That’s the full Chapter 1, Season 1 experience all over again. The best part? It’s going to be a permanent fixture.

Think of it as the OSRS or WoW Classic of Fortnite, where the clock is rolled back to 2017 when Fortnite first swapped from being a Gears of War horde mode-like to a more colourful version of PUBG. With building, of course.

What’s Fortnite OG?

Fortnite OG is exactly what it says on the tin: it’s Fortnite as it existed back in 2017, when Chapter 1, Season 1 (or just Season 1 as it was called back then) first dropped.

It includes the original map, loot, and seasons. Yes, we say seasons plural, as it seems OG will follow the same life cycle as the original Fortnite, with the OG seasons returning periodically.

Missed out on those awesome early day skins? Well, this will give you a chance to earn them all over again. We’ve always been pretty partial to the knight outfit.

When Does Fortnite OG Launch?

Fortnite OG launches on December 6, along with the Chapter 1, Season 1 content.

Will Fortnite OG Seasons Make a Return?

This isn’t 100% confirmed just yet, but it looks likely. Users over on X are speculating that the original seasons, complete with rewards, will arrive on a monthly basis along with a new Battle Pass.

What’s not clear is how the Battle Pass system will work, given that Fortnite recently introduced Simultaneous Pass Progression. Hopefully this will also apply to OG Battle Passes.

What Else is Going on in Fortnite?

We rounded up the recent Fortnite leaks, including the introduction of Ice Spice and an upcoming crossover with Marvel Rivals and other Marvel games.

There’s also talk of a brand new Masamune sword coming soon? Here’s hoping.
