Over on X, Fortnite has confirmed that OG Ranked is officially here. We booted up the game to check, and, indeed, Ranked was right there waiting for us.
You can play in standard OG or its Zero Build variant to climb the ranks. It features Bronze ranks all the way up to Unreal, with ranks remaining separate across the two different versions.
To celebrate, Epic Games has made it so that players Silver rank and below can’t lose rank, though just for this week. From next week onwards, it will perform as expected.
What Ranks Does Fortnite OG Include?
Fortnite OG Ranked features the same ranks as the regular mode. Here is the full list from lowest to highest:
- Bronze III – I
- Silver III – I
- Gold III – I
- Platinum III – I
- Diamond III – I
- Elite
- Champion
- Unreal
These ranks are separate between Zero Build and regular Fortnite OG. So, you have to climb the ranks across both.

Is Progression and Penalties the Same?
In short: yes. You still get a penalty for a set period after leaving a match, resulting in you being unable to play for a set period of time. This increases each time you leave a match, up to a total of 12 hours at the maximum penalty.
Progression is also identical: defeat players to progress, with the players defeated later in a match leading to further progression. Conversely, die early in a match and you will lose progress.
Seasonal Rewards and Rank Reset
Much like in regular Ranked modes, you earn additional rewards by progressing through the ranks, as well as completing exclusive quests. These rewards are primarily cosmetic in nature, including umbrellas, pickaxes, and sprays.
Your ranked progression resets every season too. While your position remains the same (i.e. you will still be Silver I if you ended the season on that rank), but you will be able to earn new rewards all over again.
