Over on X, Genshin Impact is posting a picture of Mavuika chilling on her Flamestrider along with the following caption:
If you had a Flamestrider to travel around Natlan, where would you like to go? Share your travel route in the comments section!

Now, this could just be HoYoverse being HoYoverse, and engaging the community’s current frenzy over the, quite frankly awesome, new character Mavuika.
But, the team could also be testing the waters for a potential mounts system that could arrive in Genshin Impact with a future update.
Was Mavuika a Beta Test For Mounts?
Mavuika herself feels a little bit like a beta test for a mount, as one of her abilities allows her to travel via Flamestrider already.
With the Genshin Impact map increasing with every major update, getting around without the use of fast travel is already increasingly time-consuming.
So, providing us with mounts could help mitigate this. Besides, it can open up whole new gameplay possibilities. Perhaps they could have combat application, like in Guild Wars 2?
It could also help Genshin compete with Fortnite, by opening up new minigames. We could see mount races arrive, for example, or delivery-style events.
Live service games need to find ways to shake up the formula often, and provide new gameplay experiences to help keep the community active. A mount system could really help with that.
The Community Seems Split
Judging from the reaction on X, though, the community seems pretty split on including mounts. You should take this with a pinch of salt though, as you may have noticed that the internet is pretty negative.
Some members were keen to see flying options so they could enjoy the scenery, while others reported that they would stop playing immediately.
Others simply answered the question – how novel! – and explained where they’d drive to first.
