Genshin Impact is gearing up to introduce the new five star character Xilonen on October 9. To build up (even more) hype ahead of the release, HoYoverse has teased the character in a brand new showcase. Suffice to say, she looks awesome.
Xilonen is a support character who specialises in multi-elemental resistance reduction. That means you can boost the attack power of nearby allies by reducing your enemy’s ability to defend against them. Focus on reducing Geo in particular, and Xilonen will deal additional damage.
Xilonen Has Rhythm
If you haven’t gathered from the promotional image, Xilonen is a bit of a musical fiend. She has a ‘sampler’ visual just next to her character, which is made up of a number of bars. These fill depending on the elemental attributes of your party members.
When you activate the sampler, all enemies get reduced elemental resistance based on the number and type of elements you’ve stacked. The maximum elemental resistance reduction is 36%, which is pretty considerable.
Enter Nightsoul’s Blessing by using your elemental skill and your primary attacks receive a boost in damage. This also allows you to continue filling up your sampler. Fill it and activate it to gain that resistance bonus.
Her Elemental Burst, OIcelotlicue Point is, of course, an AoE Geo attack that gains a bonus depending on how many samples you’ve filled. If you have at least two, you heal all nearby active characters. If it’s fewer than two, you deal damage two additional times. It’s a win-win.
When Will Xilonen Release?
Xilonen will arrive in Genshin Impact on October 9 as part of the ‘Rainbow Destined to Burn’ update. It introduces acts three and four of the Archon quest, a quest dedicated to Xilonen, and a brand new boss.
Between the launch and update 5.2, Genshin Impact will host five new events: Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses, Aphid Treasure Trace, Feast of Pursuit, Reminiscent Regimen, and Marvelous Merchandise. Expect to receive a ton of rewards if you manage to complete them.
In fact, Genshin Impact has been very generous lately. During its recent fourth anniversary celebrations, it kicked off Teyvat’s Special Delivery, a web event with a ton of rewards on offer. HoYoverse followed this up with Starlight Reverie, showering us with even more gifts.
