Clay and Ceramic are one of the most valuable mutations in Grow a Garden that have a value multiplier of 10x and 30x, respectively. However, obtaining these two mutations isn’t an easy task which is why we’ll walk you through these simple instructions to get Clay and Ceramic mutations in Grow a Garden.

How To Get Clay Mutation in Grow a Garden

How to get Clay and Ceramic mutations in Grow a Garden

Clay = Sandy + Wet (Rain) → 10x value

To get the Clay mutation, you need to first grow a crop with the Sandy Mutation. This mutation appears during a Sandstorm, a random weather event that lasts about three minutes. Sandy crops have a light brown color and small sand puff effects, and they offer a 3.894x sale multiplier on their own.

To increase your chances, plant a full garden of crops like Moon Mango or Sugar Apple during a Sandstorm. Once you have Sandy-mutated crops, wait for a Rain or Thunderstorm event. These events trigger the Wet Mutation, which adds water droplets to your crops and gives a 2x multiplier.

When a Sandy crop gets the Wet Mutation, it transforms into a Clay crop. You can check the Forecast Board in-game to see when rain is coming. Playing on a private server helps avoid other players stealing your crops, and using a Master Sprinkler speeds up growth during Rain.

How To Get Ceramic Mutation in Grow a Garden

Ceramic = Sandy + Burnt (spray) or Sundried (Heatwave) → 30x value

Ceramic Mutation is even more valuable, giving a 30x sale multiplier and a dark, baked look to your fruits. Like Clay, you start with a Sandy crop from a Sandstorm. Then, you need to apply either the Burnt or Sundried Mutation to that crop.

The Burnt Mutation is the easier option. You can get it by using a Burnt Mutation Spray, which costs three Summer Coins in the Summer Harvest Event shop, or by using a Cooked Owl Pet. Just apply the spray or use the pet on a Sandy crop to turn it into Ceramic.

The Sundried Mutation also works but is much harder to get, as it only appears during rare Heatwave events. Sundried crops have a dry, crispy texture and give an 85x multiplier on their own.
