Hot on the heels of patch 14.21, League of Legends is teasing an exciting addition arriving with patch 14.22: a brand new champion Ambessa.

We know everything there is to know about her combat style and abilities, but alarmingly little about her backstory. Granted, that’s not always the most interesting feature of a MOBA, but still. Tease us, Riot!

Here’s everything you need to know about League of Legends’ new champion, Ambessa.

League of Legends New Champion Ambessa Abilities

Let’s begin by taking a look at Vambessa’s abilities, so you can get an idea of how the champion will function in combat.

Drakehound’s Step

  • Passive

Whenever Ambessa casts an ability, she will dash in the direction you choose. This will both help you get into combat quickly, but also get out of trouble.

This ability also produces a charge, increasing your attack range and speed. You lose a charge each time you attack, though you deal additional damage and restore energy. It’s a bit of a trade.

Cunning Sweep and Sundering Slam

  • Active

An AoE attack that deals additional damage to enemies at the very edge of the animation. If you hit an enemy, you can then recast it to use Sundering Slam.

This ability deals bonus damage to the first enemy you hit.

Repudiation

  • Active

Gain a shield and then slam to the ground. If she takes damage from any source while using this ability, the slam deals extra damage.

Lacerate

  • Active

Deal damage to all nearby enemies and slow them. If you use in conjunction with Drakehound’s Step, you gain an additional attack.

Public Execution

  • Active and Passive

Ambessa’s ultimate ability provides Armour Penetration (AP) and heals her when she uses Abilities. That’s the passive component.

The active sees Ambessa teleport to the furthest enemy, preventing them from moving before dealing damage and stunning them.

When is the Patch 14.22 and Ambessa Release Date?

According to Riot Games’ official patch schedule, 14.22 will arrive on Wednesday, November 6. Ambessa will arrive alongside it.
