MapleStory has been going for donkeys years, but that hasn’t stopped it growing. As of today, the latest entry in the series has just dropped: MapleStory Worlds. As our headline suggested, it’s basically Roblox meets Mario Maker but in the MapleStory universe.
How Does MapleStory Worlds Work?
Alone or with your fellow players, you can create your very own MapleStory adventure. According to the Steam news it features over 30 million MapleStory game assets to use. Of course, you can also create your own if you fancy yourself a bit of an artist.
What you do with MapleStory Worlds is entirely up to you. You can create entirely new games, a hang out space to chill in with your friends, or challenge random players to beat a puzzle of your own creation. It’s simply a game creation tool like Roblox, but one that uses the assets of MapleStory.
What’s MapleStory?
If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a long-running MMORPG that takes place on a 2D plane. Think Super Mario World but online, and instead of being a plumber you’re a Paladin or a Mage.
In total, there are over 40 classes to pick from, each of which plays completely differently. You explore a side-scrolling world, battling monsters and completing quests to level up. Then it’s a case of getting to the true endgame: dressing up.
What, you thought it was going to be raids and dungeons? Well, MapleStory has all of that, but be honest with yourself: you play an MMORPG to dress up, don’t you?

How do I Join the MapleStory Worlds Soft Launch?
MapleStory Worlds is in soft launch right now in North and South America, though only for players on PC and Mac. It will arrive on mobile by the end of the year, and open up to European players in January 2025. Check it out on the official site.
Those in other regions, stay tuned: MapleStory Worlds will arrive across the globe at a later date.
