Once Human is gearing up to release its Visional Wheel system in January, and it looks set to shake up Scenarios considerably. Not only will it make them more challenging, but it will provide a ton of additional rewards.
Visional Wheels are seasonal events, which, if the first is anything to go by, last about three months. They will also split into three different phases, each running roughly a month each, which shake up the format.
We’re going to run you through the Visional Wheel system, including the first cycle kicking off in January, so you know what to expect.

What’s the Visional Wheel?
The Visional Wheel is an upcoming event series in Once Human that will provide additional challenges within scenarios and make them more rewarding.
Visional Wheels last 2-3 months, and each feature several phases that shake up the formula within the cycle. Then, when it ends, the wheel spins again and the cycle begins again.
In practice, expect the wheel to alter the environment, your weapons and builds, and the rules of the specific Scenario you’re currently playing.
Not only will it help keep Scenarios feeling fresh, but it will also provide far greater rewards for engaging with them.
What’s the First Visional Wheel, ‘Lunar Oracle’?
- Begins: January 16
- Ends: TBD end of March
The first Visional Wheel is themed on the moon, and it’s called Lunar Oracle. It kicks off on January 16 and affects the following scenarios:
- Manibus
- Evolution’s Call
- Prismverse’s Clash
- The Way of Winter

Blood Moon, Lunacy, and Wilderness Changes
It also affects the world itself. Each time the in-game clock hits 9:00 PM, a blood moon effect covers the world.
You also gain the ‘Lunacy’ effect, which reduces your Sanity. You can restore your Sanity by defeating enemies.
Depending on how low your HP metre is when fighting enemies, you gain Moon Whispers. These are an event currency that you can spend on additional rewards.
When infected by Lunacy, you can see special ‘Oracle Chests’ within settlements, which require those Moon Whispers to unlock. You also find more resources while in the world.
If you die, you gain a blessing that protects you from Lunacy for the remainder of the Lunar Oracle, and grants you additional Moon Whispers, depending on your Sanity level when you die.
Death is a lot easier to come by, too, as enemies are generally more aggressive and deal more damage. You also face more Elite enemies than usual.
Lastly, the Lunar Oracle effect can also adjust how events in the open world behave.
You can learn more about the Lunar Oracle effect on the official Once Human website.

New Weapons and Gear
The first Visional Wheel introduces three new weapons:
Weapon | Details |
Critical Pulse | A crossbow that you can charge to trigger orb lightning AoE attacks |
Primal Rage | An SMG that allows you to use your HP to shoot when you run out of ammo |
Hazardous Object | A pistol whose ammo can explode |
In addition, a number of new armour sets, mods, Cradle effects, and more will be added but the development team isn’t ready to talk about these just yet.
