Royal Quest Online is rapidly heading towards its October 22 launch, and only one of its Steam wishlist goals is still standing. At present, developer BASE has met two of its reward milestones, with its third and final agonisingly close.

But BASE has only gone and squished the target to make it easier to dole out the rewards. It was originally set at 28,000 Steam wishlists, but is now at a much more achievable 25,000. That makes it less than 2,000 to go within two weeks.

What’s Royal Quest Online?

We want to help Royal Quest Online achieve this, so we’re going to sell the game to you. It’s a Diablo-like MMORPG that errs a little more on the cosy side of the equation. You pick from one of four different classes and battle your way through a gorgeous fantasy world.

The classes range from the predictable Mage, Paladin-like Crusader, and Mercenary Assassin, to the less familiar Sniper. This is a ranged support class that can fire a cannon at their foes.

Each class can develop into one of two subclasses, so you can tweak them to match your desired play style. When you’re happy, you can take on the challenging dungeons with your friends, or participate in PvP against your enemies.

How Does it Differ From Other RPGs?

So what sets Royal Quest Online apart? Well, it’s up to you how you want to play. You can participate in jobs as a mercenary, become a trader by seeking out rare treasures, or steal your own castle via the PvP system. It’s not your traditional MMORPG that forces you into questing.

If you can put together your own guild, you can build your own castle and start generating profits from it. You can then expand your empire with more castles and holdings, stealing them from other players.

What’s the Royal Quest Online Release Date?

Royal Quest Online launches on October 22, and provided you login within the first week, you get two free rewards:

  • Pet: Demon ‘Agaliar’
  • Decoration: High Voltage

But, if you wishlist the game right now, you can contribute towards the final tier of rewards, the awesome ‘Priest of Technology’ costume. We’ll see you in the lands of Elenia.
