Competitive Team Fortress 2 players got an early Christmas present this year, with a new Fall Highlander Cup announced and set to start on November 27.
The new cup is hosted by ProPugs.com and will run until December 19. With many other cups and leagues wrapping up for the year this is a welcome addition to the calendar.

Who Can Join the Fall Highlander Cup?
Highlander is a competitive 9v9 rule set, which most of the game’s Major Leagues use. If you are unfamiliar with this rule set, or want a refresh, you can learn more about it on the official Team Fortress 2 Wiki.
This year’s Fall Highlander Cup will see the top teams in the European Highlander Leagues compete. These teams battle it out for a 100+ key prize pool along with other prizes.
Some of the most highly anticipated matches will be broadcasted live though Twitch on KritzKast. So keep an eye out if you are an esports fan.
It’s Newcomer Friendly This Time
However, this new cup is not only for the best of the best. A dedicated newcomer division has been set up to ensure players of all levels can enjoy some competitive action. A really awesome touch we feel.
The Newcomer division will help rookies come to terms with the 9v9 Highlander rule set. Nurturing a fun and healthy competition with other players in the same skill range.
There has also been collaborations with legendary teams such as SDK!, pYRO, and GardenFungus to provided prizes for the newcomer division. A 45+ key prize pool specifically for the Newcomer Division.
Time to hunt through steam for nine buddies to create a team!
