Bungie has released the patch notes for update 8.1.0.1, and they’re pretty trim. There are only two tweaks, but they’re pretty exciting, and focus on adding that much-needed challenge to your favourite modes.
Destiny 2 fans must be pinching themselves as of late. Not only do we have a mobile game in the works, Destiny Rising, but Bungie has been working hard to keep you happy with the recent Revenant Act 1 that launched on October 8.
With Revenant, Bungie opted for a whole new structure by spreading all of the new content into episodes. The first act dropped on October 8 and included new story content, features like Tonic brewing, a new Onslaught: Salvation mode, new weapons and artefact perks, a new Skimmer, and more.
Destiny 2 8.1.0.1 Patch Notes
Destiny 2 has released the patch notes for update 8.1.0.1, and they’re pretty trim. They do include a nice few little additions though, the most notable is a tweak to Nightfall. Bane enemies will now arrive on all difficulties above expert, increasing the challenge.
Bungie has also fixed an issue where expert mode Eventide Ruins didn’t feature the correct enemy levels, which is just annoying. Hopefully this fix will bring it more in line with the level of challenge we expect.
What’s Destiny 2: Revenant?
Revenant is the latest Destiny 2 expansion, which Bungie has this time opted to launch as part of three separate acts. Act 1 arrived on October 8, and introduced a wealth of new content to the mix.
It all kicked off with more story, of course. Fikrul has turned into a bit of a dictator and decided that he’s now Kell of Kells. So you team up with your friends to help put a stop to all of that nonsense and save House Light.

To help you take on the new challenges, Bungie introduced tonics. You can craft these potions to restore your health, provide you with buffs like boosted damage, and even encourage more of the types of drops that you want.
Content launches in drips throughout the cycle, with a new dungeon, Vesper’s Host, arriving on October 11.
A Salvation For Onslaught
There was space for a brand new version of Onslaught called Salvation, which sees you battle hordes of enemies on new maps. This time around though, you have help in the form of defensive weapons.
You can lay down traps, pop a turret to keep enemies at bay, or even call down airstrikes. That will help you tackle the additional challenges that this new version introduces.

Of course, new Destiny 2 content means new loot, and Bungie doesn’t disappoint. There’s a focus on Stasis and Ice-themed loot this time around, but there are plenty new weapons, armour, and cosmetics to collect.
