Dungeon Stalkers has held two playtests in its short lifespan so far: one in November 2023, and the other in August 2024. Both have attracted quite the player count.

There are still two big questions plaguing the community though: what’s the release date? And will there be a Dungeon Stalkers mobile version? We’ve already answered one of those, so we’re focusing on the other today.

Let’s take a look at everything we know about the release date so far, including early access plans. You can also take a look at our full list of Dungeon Stalkers characters and classes if you’d like to learn more.

What is the Dungeon Stalkers Release Date?

Developer Action Square has confirmed that Dungeon Stalkers will hold an early access release date, ahead of the full global release. We know that this will happen early 2025, likely in Q1.

Dungeon Stalkers was originally planned for a ‘Fall 2024’ release date, or Q4 2024, but Action Square made the difficult decision to postpone this.

The reason for the delay is that Action Square has identified a few key issues with gameplay and stability that need to be addressed before the game is opened to a wider audience.

What Will Change Between the Last Playtest and Launch?

Action Square has identified these issues that need resolving before launch:

  • Making farming more fun
  • Refining combat systems
  • Improving character animations
  • Revamping the UI and matchmaking systems

There’s also considerable work to be done on the server side, to ensure a smoother experience. During the playtests, players reported matchmaking failures, crashes, and bugs that were rather frustrating.

The upside of the delay is that there will be brand new content when Dungeon Stalkers does arrive. The team has already teased at least two new characters that will make it into the early access period, and they seem to focus on more of a hybrid gameplay style than the others.
