Pokémon Go has partnered with Walmart to make the experience of being dragged to the store by your parents more bearable. Okay, that’s not the actual reason, but it is a natural byproduct.

Instead, all Walmart stores in the US will feature more PokéStops and Gyms than before. Niantic wants you to see these as a bit of a hub for gathering with friends, catching Pokémon, and battling in Gyms.

Pokémon Go Finally Gets Physical Gift Cards

Perhaps the most exciting new feature though is the PokéCoin gift cards. Yes, that’s right: physical gift cards. What took Niantic so long?!

Now, you can purchase between 1,250 – 15,000 PokéCoins as a gift card. Maybe you want to treat your brother on his birthday, or yourself just because. Well, now you can.

Here’s the full list of cards and prices:

PokéCoinsPrice
1,250$10
3,300$25
7,000$50
15,000$100

When Does the Pokémon Walmart Crossover Begin?

The crossover with Walmart kicks off on October 20. It’s limited to the United States for now, but you can visit your local to check out those extra PokéStops and Gyms.

The gift cards arrive on the same date. You can buy them in store or via the app and collect them when you arrive.

If you’re a Community Ambassador, you can reach out to Walmart and get some free gift cards that you can hand out to Trainers within your community. Learn more on the Niantic Labs Campfire site.

You can use the Walmart Store Finder to locate your nearest store.

How do I Redeem Pokémon Go Gift Cards?

Niantic has unleashed a brand new page on Pokémon Go Live that’s dedicated to redeeming your gift cards. All you have to do is sign in, pop in the code, then you should see your PokéCoins next time you login.

What Else is Going On in Pokémon Go?

So much. Niantic is bringing back the Festival of Lights early in November for Trainers in India. Later this month, Max Battles will arrive with three Gen 1 Pokémon getting Gigantamax variants.

Perhaps most excitingly though, Pokémon Go’s Halloween event begins on October 22, introducing a brand new Pokémon.
