It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Throne and Liberty has finally launched across the globe. The hit new MMORPG launched in early access back on September 26, and seems to be off to a good start – if you don’t count the widespread server issues. Oops!
What’s Throne and Liberty?
For those unaware, Throne and Liberty is an MMORPG that features a classless system, large-scale PvP warfare, and a wealth of PvE modes, including a story-based campaign, dungeons, and bosses to battle. If you’ve played a game in the genre before, you should have an idea of what to expect.
The class system is where it differs. Rather than pick a class, like warrior, healer, or archer, you effectively create your own. Each weapon has a variety of passive and active skills that you can unlock, each fulfilling a different traditional archetype. Wand and Tome is your healer/debuffer, for example, while Sword and Shield fulfils your tanking needs.

By mixing and matching these, you can swap between different archetypes, or synergise them to create the ultimate damager dealer. You aren’t locked into playing a specific role, and can swap between them at will. Well, as long as you have the desired weapon in your inventory.
What’s the Combat Like?
Combat is fast-paced, with real-time attacks and a variety of active skills to pull off. You can dodge attacks, block, and parry, performing a counter if you time it just right. Think Dark Souls but with the attack rotations of World of Warcraft.
Master the combat and you can take on challenging content, including enormous PvP guild battles that see you lay siege to your enemy’s castle. If you prefer things a little smaller in scale, you can deliver tax from the manor to the castle as part of a group, though rival guilds may attack you.

If PvE is more your bag, you can head into a dungeon on your lonesome or with friends. These house challenging bosses that you can defeat for the best loot, or to simply level up. Fancy soloing? There’s plenty of that on offer. You can participate in the campaign, take on side quests, or even tackle random field events that crop up while you’re out-and-about.
I Hear You Can Transform Into an Animal?
Traversing the world is super fun thanks to the morph system. At any point, you can transform into an animal to run faster around the environment. Reach a high vantage point and you can soar like an eagle through the air, getting down quickly or reaching your destination faster.
