OSRS has finally unleashed its Halloween update on the denizens of Gielinor, with content both new and old for you to sift through. Not only that, but we’ve got tweaks to the recent Wintertodt and Varlamore updates. Better strap in for this one!

What’s New in the OSRS Halloween Update?

So what’s new? Well, there’s a brand new quest for one. This sees you head to south Falador where you’ll discover Marika, a farmer who has created a pumpkin-themed tribute to her lost lover. She needs your help to perfect it.

South Falador itself has had a bit of a Halloween makeover too. You’ll find pumpkins, Jack O’Lanterns, and other spooky decorations all over the place. If you fancy getting into the frightening spirit, head on over there to bask in all its glory.

In terms of rewards, you can unlock the Scarecrow Shirt to wear on your adventures, as well as a customisable Pumpkin Head. You can tweak the colour and expression of this hat (helmet?) to match your heart’s desire.

Lastly, you can plant a Scarecrow by your very own house, customising its appearance, colour, and expression. That should scare off anyone you don’t want around. Of course, all rewards from previous Halloween events make a return too. Head on over to Draynor and chat to Diango to get them.

OSRS Varlamore Updates For Hueycoatl and Amoxliatl

While we’ve already seen sweeping changes to Varlamore, OSRS is back with a few further tweaks. This time Jagex is introducing combat achievements for Hueycoatl and Amoxliatl. In total there are 20 to unlock, 11 for the former and nine for the latter.

There are also a few minor tweaks:

  • You can now add Caviar and Roe to the Reagent pouch
  • Prescription Goggles saves Caviar and Roe when making Barbarian Potions
  • The bug preventing Huasca Potions from being added to Potion Storage is resolved
  • You can now use all eligible items from Varlamore: The Rising Darkness in Death’s Coffer

OSRS Wintertodt Tweaks

Wintertodt has less exciting changes. The one you will likely care about the most is the increase of points from 30 to 75 when restoring a Pyromancer. That should help with the grinding.

Cold hitsplats will also appear darker than Woodcutting variants, to help you see them in a busy environment. That’s it for the Wintertodt changes!

PVP Arena Matchmaking Fixes

You can now join a PVP match much faster than before, as Jagex have grouped players into two ranks: Bronze, Iron, and Steel for lower, and Mithril, Adamant, Rune, and Dragon for higher. That means less time waiting to be matched with players according to your set rank.

Also, that bug preventing certain opponents from appearing in matches is resolved. Learn more about the update and tweaks on Steam.
